Environmental hazards of sand foundries
Sand foundry will cause various hazards to the environment in the production process, mainly including:
1. Air pollution: The casting process will produce a large amount of dust and harmful gases, such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, sulfide, etc., these pollutants will have a serious impact on the surrounding air quality.
2. Water pollution: the casting process will produce waste water, including cooling water, cleaning water, chemical treatment waste water, etc., these waste water if directly discharged without treatment, will cause pollution to the water body.
3 Solid waste: The casting process will produce solid waste such as waste sand, scrap metal and slag, which, if not properly treated, will occupy a large amount of land and cause soil and groundwater pollution.
4. Noise pollution: mechanical operation and material handling in the casting process will produce noise, which will cause noise pollution to the surrounding environment.
The solution

In order to reduce the environmental harm of sand foundry, the following measures can be taken:
1. Dust and harmful gas treatment: the dust discharged can be purified by wet or dry method, the harmful gas can be controlled by changing the combustion method of carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide emissions, the use of activated carbon, silica gel, activated alumina and other adsorbants to deal with sulfur gas, hydrogen chloride and so on.
2. Wastewater treatment: For the wastewater generated by the casting process, precipitation, filtration, air flotation, coagulation and other methods can be used to remove suspended solids in the wastewater, and aerobic oxidation treatment can be used to reduce chemical oxygen demand and biochemical oxygen demand in the wastewater.
3. Solid waste treatment: waste sand can be hygienical landfill or used as mixed materials for building materials, and slag can be collected and sent to cement plants for use as mixed materials.
4. Noise control: use low noise equipment, such as low noise fan, and install into the exhaust muffler or use the method of sound insulation room and muffler channel to control the noise source.
5. Energy conservation and emission reduction: improve energy efficiency, reduce energy consumption, reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and adopt clean energy and low-carbon technologies.
6. Environmental management system design: establish an environmental management system to monitor and manage all kinds of pollution generated in the production process and ensure the effective implementation of environmental protection measures.
By implementing these measures, sand foundries can significantly reduce their negative impact on the environment and achieve sustainable development.
